Regional Flood Response Project -- Wednesday, January 04, 2012
Ron Baldwin, working for the DPC, is requesting support letters for the Regional Flood Response Project. DWR will be issuing a project solicitation package in January. After discussions with local RD’s and engineers, it was determined that the best option for the Delta would be a regional project. Attached is a description of the project and sample support letters.
Labor Compliance -- Wednesday, January 04, 2012
On January 1, 2012, the Department of Industrial Relations will take over performing labor compliance for work utilizing bond funding. We will keep you informed of the procedures as they become more concrete.
Garamendi Legislation -- Wednesday, January 04, 2012
Congressman Garamendi is going to introduce legislation in January that addresses flood insurance and building in rural areas behind levees that are losing their flood certification. He addressed the California Central Valley Flood Control Association yesterday via Skype. The CCVFCA will be assisting Garamendi’s staff and following the legislation on your behalf.
Erosion Repair -- Wednesday, January 04, 2012
The final project report was completed and submitted to the agencies. They all felt the project was successful. We just received the invoice from Ford this week and after review we will issue a payment recommendation. Attached is as-built data. We have notified the agencies of the intent to acquire permits for the remaining erosion sites, so hopefully, the permitting will go smoother this time.
